AT DAVIS
A student-run club spreading blockchain innovation and education.
A student-run club spreading blockchain innovation and education.
We are a group of undergraduate students at University of California, Davis that work closely with Assistant Professor Mohammad Sadoghi, Blockchain Acceleration Foundation and industry experts to design curriculum for UC Davis' blockchain course (ECS 189F: Introduction to Distributed Ledgers). We offer blockchain workshops and accelerate blockchain project development through one-on-one tutoring as well as bridging the gap between the blockchain industry and academia at UC Davis.
Blockchain at Davis was started in October 2017 by UC Davis students as a Facebook group, that got hundreds of students’ interest. The org went on to fall under UC Davis as a professional organization that educated students on blockchain technology, economics, and cryptocurrency. In the first couple of months, over a hundred different students have come to the in-person workshops. After the cryptocurrency bubble popped in early 2018, the founding members, Sach Samala and Samarth Sandeep changed the focus of Blockchain at Davis to be technical and educate students on building blockchain applications. Since then, Blockchain at Davis has been involved in a few major Northern California Hackathons, worked with companies across the Bay Area, and has also been featured on CNBC.
We partner with leading blockchain protocols and companies to host blockchain validators as a part of giving back to the blockchain community.
We host weekly workshops centered around Ethereum and Decentralized applications, focusing on the basics of solidity and smart contracts.
We design open source accredited blockchain courses taught at UC Davis, introducing blockchain technology to undergraduates as a part of their coursework.
